Our Process For Plan Sponsors

We have developed a process-- focused on removing all unnecessary risk and expense--that equips plan sponsors with the knowledge and confidence they are taking all the right steps to reach their plan goals. Start the process one of two ways. Send us a request for information form or schedule a discovery meeting.

After we determine if what we do and how we do it is a good match for you or your firm, here is what you can expect:

Pre-proposal Stage

1. Evaluate and benchmark your current plan and providers and document your desired plan goals.

2. Identify the best fit team of certified providers, including current providers, i.e. record keeper, third party administrator, and custodian, and if necessary other consultants.

3. Recommend investment options that meet the Pension Protection Act of 2006 criteria for Qualified Default Investment Alternatives (QDIA). These portfolios are based on modern portfolio theory (risk and return are related and portfolios can be constructed to reside on the efficient frontier) for a limited range of risk tolerances and time dated choices. These portfolios are neither active nor passive but rather “rational and efficient.

Proposal

4. Develop a proposal that is easy for you to compare to your current plan and to other choices.

Negotiation

5. Introduce representatives from selected service providers

6. Provide a detailed implementation process and detailed schedule to enable a smooth transition.

Contract acceptance & Implementation

7. Implementation plan development across all parties.

8. Produce the investment policy statement.

9. Prepare and deliver the employee education materials and schedule

Post Implementation Service

10. Review plan sponsor fiduciary responsibilities and make recommendations for improved compliance

11. Monitor investments with employees as frequently as agreed.

12. Provide plan sponsor with regulatory updates at least quarterly.

Team Meeting

At the six months post implementation point, hold a meeting with the principals of plan sponsor firm and provider firms for a quality evaluation. Follow up on open issues.
